SALSA - SAFE AND LOCAL SUPPLIER APPROVAL

John L Prosser is an approved Mentor on the SALSA Scheme and offers guidance to small food businesses who seek SALSA Accreditation.

SALSA is a not-for-profit approval scheme for local food and drink manufacturers supplying products aimed at meeting the standards expected by national buyers. The scheme is based on product safety, legality, quality, and the demonstration of due diligence.

SALSA is a joint venture between the four main trade associations representing the UK Food Chain, namely The British Retail Consortium (BRC), The British Hospitality Association (BHA), The Food and Drink Federation (FDF), and the National Farmers Union (NFU). It is supported by the Food Standards Agency, DEFRA, and the majority of UK’s leading retailers and food service operators.
