"SUSTAINABILITY - A CHALLENGE FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY"
As Chairman of the Western Branch of the IFST Director John L Prosser was privileged to chair the 2009 Spring Conference and AGM of the IFST which was held at UWIC Cardiff.
Speakers on the topic of "Sustainability - A Challenge to the Food Industry" included:
Sir Donald Curry, Professor Peter Lillford, Sue Bell, Derek Armstrong, Richard Heathcote, Patrick Holden, Catherine Side, Dr Ray Elliot, Ian Walsh, and Doug Marriott.
MAYOR OF ABERGAVENNY
On 11th May 2009 Director John L Prosser completed his year of office as Mayor of Abergavenny.
Abergavenny is the home of the famous Abergavenny Food Festival and John was honoured to launch the festival in full mayoral robes!
VICE PRESIDENT OF IFST
At the AGM of the IFST held in Cardiff in April 2009 Eur Ing John L Prosser was elected a Vice President of the Institute of Food Science and Technology.
FOOD ENGINEERING COMMITTEE
Eur Ing John L Prosser is a member of the joint Food Engineering Committee of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Birdcage Walk, London, and the Institute of Food Science and Technology. This committee is actively involved in engineering issues in the food industry.
